Captain Michael Bakk

With the use of courtesy titles based on navy ranks Michael Bakk is founder as well as the captain of the Calgary Space Workers Society (CSW). On October 4, 2004 after Michael’s involvement with the Da-Vinci Project who was Canadian contenders for the Ansari X-prize, he was put in charge of the additional extension projects being done by admiral Paul Swift through the Calgary Space Frontier Society (CSFS). The formation of the CSW was to challenge the building of a facility that would be able to sustain life in space. The moon was chosen as it has many resources available for use by people on earth as well as for lunar habitation.  The CSFS are working on the plans to go from earth to the moon and the CSW are doing projects for the moon back to earth.

The first Anasari X-prize was a world competition and Canada’s team called Da-Vinci Project was in the running for being the first with privatized commercial space travel but was forced to temporarily delay their first launch on October 2, 2004

On October 4, 2004,Vergin Galactic’s SpaceShip-One in the United States went into the history books as becoming the first private, manned spacecraft to exceed an altitude of 328,000 feet twice within 14 days, with a reusable spacecraft and a payload of three people thus claiming the ten million dollar Ansari X-Prize.

The CSW are also supported by Tower Aerospace Inc. and in affiliation with Moon Society, National Space Society (NSS), Canadian Space Society (CSS), and Students for the Exploration and Development of Space in Canada (SEDS Canada).  Michael Bakk is on an advisory board with the Moon Society and was invited to speak at the International Space Development Conference (ISDC 2007) in Dallas TX.

The CSW are a science club of science minded workers who are now well known for their research and development of space facilities and lunar material processing.

Commander John Hadden as per December 2006 is second in command of the Calgary Space Workers Society. Commander Hadden is one of the founding members, is a strong minded and reliable individual. Commander Hadden held a prior rank of Lieutenant with the Calgary Space Workers Society since Oct 2004, and holds memberships with the Calgary Space Frontiers Society, Moon Society, Artemis Society International and the National Space Society. The Commander is well known for his knowledge on industrialization of the moon, fair trade, societal change and stem cell research.

Commander Playfair is of strong constitution and a fine political analyst. As a Commander with the Calgary Space Workers since 2004 he is an advocate of the working class and a powerful spokesman on the subject political movements. He is also a member with the Calgary Space Frontiers Society and a retired medical doctor. Commander David Playfair as per November 2006 has established a new division of Space Workers in Eastern Canada. Soon he will announce some new additions and new people to move us closer to our goals
